My sketching ideas for future projects…

by on Sep.05, 2020, under What's New?

topped at the live concert live I posted earlier about after dropping off artwork in Mount Dora, Florida.

While there I scribbled lots of notes and sketches involving some very near future projects that have bubbled up in the past week involving something another friend has got me brewing and ideas I’ve kicked about into a real plan.

More to come.

My two new #Dog #Watercolor #Paintings….

by on Sep.04, 2020, under What's New?

Here are the finished watercolor paintings of the two doggies.

The client wanted a memory of two dogs they lost over the years. The request was for the two dogs to notice a light above them.
I went ahead and did each illustration so that the two would connect.
After framing the two can be hung a bit of distance apart and still seem to connect.

These are each painted using watercolor on 11″x14″ illustration board.

Please let me know if you would like a piece of artwork from me! I’m offering great deals due to the virus situation we have found ourselves in..

My newest #watercolor #Painting now available through an auction !

by on Sep.03, 2020, under Illusration

Here’s the watercolor version of the pencils I showed a few days ago.

I created this specifically for this auction. It’s a fund raiser to continue trying to do something about a mess involving a dam, the Rodman, that makes a mess of a river, the Ocklawaha, and costs taxpayers very significantly.

The original painting is of the three best known to document the Ocklawaha river over the past 3 centuries: Sidney Lanier, William Bartram and Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings (‘The Yearling’).

The auction is happening here: https://explore.webpdq.com/auctions/?ult_auc_id=589
There’s more there, too, to bid on.

A print version will be available through Fine Art America after the auction.

Of course, I’m also available to create other paintings and you can send me a private message about that. Due to the mess we are in, I am very much keeping my prices even lower than usual to work with you and trying to cover my bills. Let me know if I can help!

Friday warm-up! I drew a gopher tortoise with dancing mice!

by on Aug.31, 2020, under Cartooning

Friday warm-up!
Friend Jenny Ann wrote that a gopher tortoise neighbor got run over by some dastardly evil doer.
So on Friday I doodled happier days of the tortoise with some dancing mice! 🙂

What might I draw Monday at 1pm?

My newest painting ready for watercolor!

by on Aug.30, 2020, under Illusration

Here’s a scene I drew of Sidney Lanier, William Bartram and Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings warping time in a canoe as three of the most noted writers to document the Ocklawaha River, here, in Florida.

It’s prepped for watercolor on 11″x14″ illustration board.
Plan to start water coloring Monday.

It’s for an auction. Not sure which one yet. Was supposed to be for one, but got on to it late trying to round up work to cover bills.Hope it will raise money for one of the two organizations that has dibs on it. I’ll let you all know which one gets it, if you want.

My New Watercolor caricature – Larry on a Bike on to his Prison Ministry!

by on Aug.27, 2020, under Caricatures

Watercolor painting I was commissioned to do of Larry on his bike heading to his weekly prison ministry!

Here’s video of me creating this from blank paper to finished watercolor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3u-lcnf4LUY

This painting was drawn and painted on Crescent board.

Would you like me to create a watercolor painting for members of the family, friends, neighbors, someone you want to honor or, even, pets?
Send me a private message and I will work with you to make that happen. I’m making very special deals due to financial issues today.

My Warm-Up Friday; Turlington Turkey and Lear’s Owl & Pussycat in color.

by on Aug.24, 2020, under Cartooning, Illusration

Jim Turlington’s birthday and, for some reason, Edward Lear came up. So, a nod to the limerick and Jim’s artistic specialty.
Added color later.

Wonder what I’ll come up with Monday?
