by Rob Smith, Jr. on May.01, 2007, under Florida Restaurants
For a quick lunch before we started the Tampa streetcar rides, we got a bit to eat at Stump’s Supper Club in the Channelside shopping area.
This is a drawings of what appears to be a cement maker in the industrial park across the Hillsborough River that we could view from our table.

by Rob Smith, Jr. on Apr.30, 2007, under Florida History!, Florida Restaurants
This is the chimney you’d see on the side of the Tap Room banquet area at Dubsdread golf course. The golf course is being redone, but this original building still stands after 80 years in College Park in Orlando. I was at the Tap Room for an event.
April 21st, 2007 – Lakeland SPCA & Jimbos!
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Apr.23, 2007, under Florida Restaurants, Friends, Various
Got home early morning from the Tallahassee trip, syole a couple hours sleep and I was back on the road again by 5am to donate time as I annually do in Lakeland for Lakeland’s SPCA Walk-A-Thon around Lake Hollingsworth.I drew caricatures there until around noon.
After that I headed over to Jimbo’s Bar-B-Q, also in Lakeland, to enjoy great ribs with longtime friends, Susie and Russell Noel. I met Susie and Russell back when I drew caricatures at Stars Hall of Fame in the early ’80s. It sure seems to me that they haven’t changed a bit since then and I’m extremely envious of that! Me – since the ’80s – have added a beard and about 80 pounds! AND grey hair!!!!!
With Susie and Russell was their daughter, Crystal, and her boyfriend. The drawing is of one of the sliced pickles that are at each table to nibble on along with hot cherry peppers.
April 20th, 2007 – Pouncey’s Restaurant!
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Apr.23, 2007, under Florida Restaurants
After the visit to the Governor’s mansion we spent some time in Havanna and then at friend, Jeff Parker’s, house. Heading home we stopped at Pouncey’s in Perry. Pretty standard food and the staff was pretty soft- working wise.
The drawing is of how we the pay phone was next to our table. It was like that when we got there and the same when we left.

by Rob Smith, Jr. on Apr.18, 2007, under Florida Attractions, Florida Restaurants, Friends
Quite a bunch of us got together Sunday night for vittles at an oriental spot near the Fashion Square Mall in Orlando. I found myself doing some drawing while there.
The drawing is of James Carter who I once worked with at the ol’ Stars Hall of Fame. He and his wife were part of the group that included Rob Labby, Manfred, Nancy and David Stewart, etc., etc.

February 2nd, 2007 – Berries!
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Apr.09, 2007, under Florida Restaurants, Friends, Various, What\'s New?
Sandra, myself, Rob, and Manfred all got some vittles after the Fairchild excursion at a small out of the way place called Berries in Miami. Very good food including an interesting dish Rob got, pumpkin ravioli. Each ravioli was filled with actual pumpkin filling.
This is a sketch looking over the bar to the outside garden area. What looks like a microphone is a lamp hanging down.

Drifted over to Fort Lauderdale and had dinner again at Tropical Acres. Joining us were fellow author Kathy Wolf, fellow hiker Phyliss Malinsky and fellow fellow, Rob Labby.
Kathy and Phyliss surprised Sandra with a belated birthday cake and birthday music performed by the house piano player pictured here.
March 31st, 2007 – Bagel Bar East!
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Apr.06, 2007, under Florida History!, Florida Restaurants, What\'s New?
We headed to South Florida to continue research for Sandra’s next book, ‘Florida’s Botanical Wonders’ and met with Sandra’s cousin, Ruth, at the ‘Bagel Bar East’ in South Miami.
Ruth’s been living in Dade County for 47 years. She and her husband headed the public relations for many places in the area including ‘The Fontainbleu’ on South Miami Beach. She’s finally decided to move on and is leaving her home next to the Ivan Tors Studios where ‘Flipper’ was filmed.
The drawing is of a patron at the ‘Bagel Bar East’.
March 24th, 2007 – Cross Creek Restaurant!
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Mar.26, 2007, under Florida Restaurants, What\'s New?
For Sandra’s birthday we went to the Cross Creek Restaurant where the food is good and lots of books are for sale. Don’t ask me which I like better!
Besides the decorative books there are many items available including antiques for sale. This boat motor was just one adorning the walls.
