by Rob Smith, Jr. on Apr.07, 2016, under Cartooning
Something else my Swampy’s Florida does is provide artwork for Florida based businesses. This is a sketch for a large project I’m working on. I look forward to showing more of this project very soon.
A football game! – April 6th, 2016
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Apr.06, 2016, under Caricatures, Cartooning
I was asked to incorporate 6 people in a simple football scene. The thought from the client was that I would have them all standing around. It’s funner with movement, so I illustrated a game!
Painting Perino, Gutfeld & Skinner – April 4th, 2016
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Apr.04, 2016, under Caricatures, Cartooning, Illusration
Paul Skinner went to a performance of news personalities Dana Perino and Greg #Gutfeld. After the event he was one of many to wait to get books signed. As Paul’s turn came he informed Gutfeld he was there to get a book signed by Perino. The photo below shows the reaction.
Paul asked me to enhance the scene a bit. So I added Perino’s famed dog Jasper and Gutfeld’s odd passion for unicorns, possibly his only real friends.

Finished one painting, to be completely revealed later, and a great start on two more in just a few hours! Finished watercolor preparation and started painting a group illustration that features caricatures of a family involved in a football game. Another was penciling, preping and adding watercolor to a caricature of a child with their pet dog and video games and psychiatry! The third has to remain a mystery illustration including a caricature of a friend

What a father sets aside – March 2nd, 2016
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Mar.02, 2016, under Cartooning
Interesting what a father sets aside. Found a few decades of my artwork in a box of his. Newspaper art, comics strips, advertising pieces, comic books and personal artwork.
Spent weekend moving my father’s things to my house. Great thanks to brother Jeff Smith, his friend Steve and old pal James Goddard for the enormous amount of help! James even found a 40th birthday comic book I had done for him and his twin brother.
