Had a whirlwind last three days with little rest and lots done! Sunday I inked this set of cartoons for my Swampy’s Florida site.
Inked with a PITT Brush, soft brush and Tombow Fudenosuke hard brush pen.

by Rob Smith, Jr. on Nov.19, 2015, under Cartooning
Here’s a piece of a project I’m working on with Santa and elves. This was the easy part. Next step is to color. After I get a few other projects out of the way.

#DailyInks #16 – Inking #cartoon of Uncle Sam and baby!
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Nov.17, 2015, under Cartooning
This is inked version of an editorial cartoon I’m working on for a client. The cartoon involves a baby being read to by Uncle Sam, as requested. This is a revision of an earlier cartoon. The original had three well known people in it and I had set them to the left due to them being recognizable and most eye catching. When the request came to swap Sam, I realized the baby would be most eye catching and so reversed the entire setting for effect and storytelling purposes.
Inked with a PITT soft brush.
#DailyInks #15 – Inking an Octopus!
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Nov.15, 2015, under Cartooning
This project dropped in as I drove to Lakeland Saturday afternoon and needed by Sunday night. Penciling and inking is easy. Coloring is the time eater.
This was inked with a Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen – Hard and a PITT medium pen.
#DailyInks #12 – Inking a College Professor – November 12th, 2015
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Nov.12, 2015, under Cartooning, Editorials
Thought I’d add a small bit of an editorial cartoon i did tonight. This is the now infamous Melissa Click of the University of Missouri. I’m posting this involving producing the art and not the politics.
Inked with a Kuretake brush, she was easy to draw. Coloring even easier. Drawing so many family members who have red, curly hair over the decades, this was easy! So, I include the color version used in the final cartoon, too.
If you would like to see the whole cartoon, let me know below or in a private message and I’ll send you over to my editorial cartoon Facebook page. I’ve kept it kinda quiet, but you can join in, if you would like.

An illustration inked today while attending a meeting of a great group watching over our Florida springs, the Silver Springs Alliance.
Inked with Kuretake brush and PITT medium pen.

#DailyInks #8 – Inkings to Judge.
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Nov.09, 2015, under Caricatures, Cartooning
Attended a powerful talk given Sunday evening (Thanks, Randy Osborne). That power better empowered me to get some serious painting done and even add some inks to this ongoing large painting. Here’s a small part of it that includes a former judge. Should have it done by the coming weekend to show the entire painting.
Inked with a Pilot brush pen – hard and a Pitt medium pen.

by Rob Smith, Jr. on Nov.03, 2015, under Cartooning
This is the inked #cartoon art for a coloring page that I still have to set up with border, logo and contact information. It’s for Got Candy & More in Lakeland, Florida. Great spot to get lots of homemade goodies, cup cakes & ice cream.
I couldn’t work at Got Candy! The very idea of being constantly surrounded with yummy cupcakes, homemade candy and ice cream is terrifying. That along with the obvious embezzlement of confectioneries that would send me up the river for a few terms at Raiford.
This was inked with Paper Mate medium Flair, PITT soft brush, and a Kuretake brush.
