by Rob Smith, Jr. on Nov.02, 2015, under Cartooning
A report this past week claims pumpkins could kill us. It’s after Halloween and I did this cartoon for today to reveal the results…

#DailyInks #1 – Been inking ALOT today!! Easier to show a table of it! Met with pal Barbara at Axum Coffee Shop in Winter Garden, Florida, to get an illustration for her started and went from there. Lots done. Swampy’s Florida Happy cartoons, editorial cartoons, caricature, coloring page, milk cartons, etc. etc. About four hours worth. And there’s still more to do! Thanks to my new young writer friend Amira for snapping this shot!

My Fred Leonhardt painting – October 20th, 2015
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Oct.20, 2015, under Cartooning
The loss of Fred Leonhardt to Florida last week is massive. His work involving business, legal and humanitarian work is hard to match. Fred also liked to have fun, whether it was with a bloody mary or cheering on the Gators.
I am very fortunate that one of my clients is Gray/Robinson, where Fred worked. When the family asked for a whimsical painting of Fred for the funeral services, I was honored to help.
Trouble was I had 36 hours to do it with waiting clients for many other projects. Yikes! I did it!
The watercolor painting is 16″ x 20″
Thanks to my other clients for the further wait! As they also know the four days that followed was even tougher! I had a photograph of the painting at the service, but it got lost in the hiccups of my continued iPhone troubles.

by Rob Smith, Jr. on Oct.16, 2015, under Cartooning
Art Drill! – Had a last minute- emergency project to get out along with other needs and hunkered down and produced what I had to in a few hours tonight. The next four days is a whirlwind schedule involving long standing commitments and last minute diversions.
#INKtober #15 – Chicken Signs – October 15th, 2015
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Oct.15, 2015, under Cartooning
Here’s a cartoon not be used for my Happy Swampy’s #Florida cartoon. I’m telling a story linking all of the cartoons together and decided to take the characters in a different direction to better flow each day. This was to be for tomorrow, ‘Learn a Word Day’ and I was to tell the origins of Vero.
