by Rob Smith, Jr. on Nov.16, 2013, under Caricatures, Cartooning
Performed at a community event today at Jones High School in Orlando and above is one of the drawings I did. Had fun drawing the werewolf. CAn’t even recall the last time I drew a werewolf.
Below are more drawings I did.
Janice collects elephants and loes to cook and furnish food at family reunions. The elephant’s ear was an artistic tactical issue.

October 2nd, 2013 – Watercolor Caricature Process
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Oct.02, 2013, under Caricatures, What's New?
Above is the prepped version in the process getting the watercolor painting below finished. Above I’ve penciled the caricature incorporating the image of the person’s head and a large amount of information about her to assemble a really personal drawing of who she is.
Adding the ink that won’t run with the watercolor, I prep the art and then add the watercolor.
This artwork was done from start to finish with the client at Beefy king in Orlando, Florida
September 27th, 2013: USO trip to NAS Jacksonville
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Sep.27, 2013, under Caricatures
After an intense 48 hours, our USO National Cartoonists Society tour ended on Wednesday at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville. Everyone left early morning Thursday. I figured since I was still in the area and was driving back in a rent a car to my car in Tampa, I might as well head back to NAS Jacksonville and draw for more of our service men and women.
Arlene with the USO stationed me inside the Exchange, the military version of a very, very nice Wal-Mart, and I drew for just under four hours. Here are a few drawings from that stop.

Our USO National Cartoonist tour continued from Tampa to Jacksonville in a very fancy bus provided by the USO. Gave a chance for done members to get a bit if rest. We stopped in Ocala for dinner in a place arranged by me. In the photo is the cartoonist gang, our USO team leader and Morrey Deen, who was a big help coordinating the spot in Ocala.

July 20th, 2013 – 90th Birthday Wishes!
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Jul.20, 2013, under Buddies, Caricatures, Cartooning, Friends
My friend, Ann Archer, turns 90 and a big party is planned today. Here’s the birthday card I painted for this very patriotic woman. She has served in various political posts for decades in Dade and Marion Counties here in Florida. She still is active today despite mobility issues. She’s a great lady with a great sense of humor, something that seems to maintain a long life. Another friend, Lucile Fair, is 105 1/2 and loves to laugh and see the fun in life. We probably all need to smile more in life and Ann and Lucile are examples of that.

Yesterday I posted the prepped artwork for watercolor. Here’s the watercolored version.
I’m going to try and post more here. It’ll be tough when on the road. Otherwise, I hope to increase artwork posts to, at least, three to four a week.
