My painting update! – Tampa Bay pirate gator meets Santa!
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Aug.11, 2016, under Illusration
This painting has been lingering as I’ve been tackling a ton of other work. In between going from meeting to meeting to meeting Wednesday, I found myself stuck in a Dairy Queen with a cold smoothie and a wicked storm. Gave me some time to get a bunch of painting done to this. It’s pretty close to finished.
About that pretty typical #Florida storm: The lightning spiked all around the building to the point of knocking out the electricity. Some folks inside weren’t used to our Florida rains and the violent crashes of very nearby electricity had a few inside the Dairy Queen screaming. It was just another day in Florida!

Here’s a digital illustration I’m working on. There’s a whole other element that is part of this illustration that I’ll add later. This is just a backdrop. After being sick for so long, trying to get fully back to work. This is one of many projects I’ll be showing as I work on them.

by Rob Smith, Jr. on Apr.27, 2016, under Illusration
Instead of commercial cards, which I haven’t bought in @ 30+ years, I created artwork for my father’s birthday & Father’s Day. Here’s one from a few years ago.
I’ll also post here that we are having his memorial service this coming Tuesday, 11am, at Florida National Cemetery. Anyone wanting to attend, please send me a private message and I’ll provide further details.
Painting Perino, Gutfeld & Skinner – April 4th, 2016
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Apr.04, 2016, under Caricatures, Cartooning, Illusration
Paul Skinner went to a performance of news personalities Dana Perino and Greg #Gutfeld. After the event he was one of many to wait to get books signed. As Paul’s turn came he informed Gutfeld he was there to get a book signed by Perino. The photo below shows the reaction.
Paul asked me to enhance the scene a bit. So I added Perino’s famed dog Jasper and Gutfeld’s odd passion for unicorns, possibly his only real friends.
