July 8th, 2007 – President Carter National Historic Site!

2007-0708-jc-1.jpgFrom the “the Little White House” to the historic site of someone else who lived there: Jimmy Carter. We stopped in Plains, Georgia and got to the historic site just before it closed. The National Park Service employee was very kind to let us see the old school and the many exhibits inside. Here is a drawing of a school desk in one of the classrooms. Also drawn is an official Jimmy Carter hammer that was used to build homes for Habitat for Humanity.
