#DailyInks #14 – More Caricatures Tonight!
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Nov.14, 2015, under Caricatures, What's New?
Been entertaining at a private event, here, in Lakeland, Florida this evening. Now at an IHOP penciling a last minute editorial cartoon assignment for a very good cause! Part of that will likely be my Daily Inks for tomorrow.
Caricatures inked with Markettes and a Kuretake brush.
#DailyInks #12 – Inking a College Professor – November 12th, 2015
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Nov.12, 2015, under Cartooning, Editorials
Thought I’d add a small bit of an editorial cartoon i did tonight. This is the now infamous Melissa Click of the University of Missouri. I’m posting this involving producing the art and not the politics.
Inked with a Kuretake brush, she was easy to draw. Coloring even easier. Drawing so many family members who have red, curly hair over the decades, this was easy! So, I include the color version used in the final cartoon, too.
If you would like to see the whole cartoon, let me know below or in a private message and I’ll send you over to my editorial cartoon Facebook page. I’ve kept it kinda quiet, but you can join in, if you would like.
#DailyInks #9 – Now a Week Ahead!

#DailyInks #3 – My inked Got Candy & More Coloring Page! – November 3rd, 2015
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Nov.03, 2015, under Cartooning
This is the inked #cartoon art for a coloring page that I still have to set up with border, logo and contact information. It’s for Got Candy & More in Lakeland, Florida. Great spot to get lots of homemade goodies, cup cakes & ice cream.
I couldn’t work at Got Candy! The very idea of being constantly surrounded with yummy cupcakes, homemade candy and ice cream is terrifying. That along with the obvious embezzlement of confectioneries that would send me up the river for a few terms at Raiford.
This was inked with Paper Mate medium Flair, PITT soft brush, and a Kuretake brush.
Happy Halloween – from Mitch Rapp! – October 31st, 2015
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Oct.31, 2015, under Books, Editorials
Thought I would share this cartoon I drew in 2009. Many know I’m kinda-sorta an all out book nut. One book espionage series I love is the Vince Flynn series of espionage thrillers featuring, American hero, Mitch Rapp. This cartoon was for my home base for editorial cartoons that was having the author on to promote his book. Each Halloween since, the publishers of Mitch Rapp are so kind as to resend out this cartoon.
Since this cartoon came out, unfortunately Flynn has died. The series is just restarting this week with another author I’m very familiar with, Kyle Mills (author). Mills is great and I’m really looking forward to the new adventures of Mitch Rapp!
#INKober #30 – Batman vs the Dragon!!! – October 30th, 2015
by Rob Smith, Jr. on Oct.30, 2015, under Caricatures
My neighbor has been a HUGE help this past year doing many things including helping to remove a fallen tree in my front yard – a HUGE tree. During his Fall Festival (AKA Halloween) Party I participated by drawing some of his guests.
Jonathan (Above and below) told me much about himself. I decided to make this more a novelty item and have his love of Batman and dragons coalesce.
Anthony (Above) enjoys researching Christian biblical ideas.
Jennie is involved with arts and crafts from painting to making beaded jewelry.
